About Us

The St. Peters Hockey Club (SPHC) is a not for profit youth ice hockey organization serving the community of St. Charles County and a registered member of USA Hockey Inc. and Missouri Hockey Inc. The SPHC began operating in 1994 and has grown into one of the largest youth ice hockey organization in the St. Louis area. The club is also proud to have hosted several Regional and National events for USA Hockey Inc. including the 1996 and 2002 Tier II Central District Championship Tournaments and the 1998 Tier II Bantam National Championship Tournament.

The SPHC skates out of the St. Peters Rec-Plex South Complex which features 2 NHL size rinks. The St. Peters Rec-Plex North and South facilities are widely considered the finest Recreational Complexes in St. Charles County and the St. Louis area. Because of the working relationship between the club and the city of St. Peters we are able to offer our Club Members a variety of programs that benefit players of all skill levels.

Our Mission

The St. Peters Hockey Club strives to teach that commitment, perseverance and passion are what transform dreams into goals realized; that this process of achieving is and should be fun; that how one conducts oneself in this process of achieving is as important as achieving the goal itself; that teamwork, fair play and respect for others on and off the ice are what define the true champion.

Our Philosophy

Youth sports are about kids and the St. Peters Hockey Club takes what appears to be a unique position when it comes to youth hockey. We understand that winning is important and everyone from our coaches to the players and parents wants to win every game. But we also try to remember that winning a game is not the ultimate goal of youth sports, but a means to an end. That the end is the development of each and every player’s character, his sense of sportsmanship, his skill level and overall love and passion for the game. To accomplish this end, we emphasize teamwork, respect for players, coaches and officials, and having fun. Within this context, the St. Peters Hockey Club strives to provide a quality environment in which children can learn, play and enjoy the game of ice hockey. The Club’s programs will stress the development of skills and teamwork that will create a solid foundation for any hockey player and will enable the player to excel to their fullest ability.
